Ok so we all have seen these cheap azz lamps, if you have one no offense. Called Torchiere, I call them torture lamps, they are simply tacky and painful to look at. Downright fugly! Fugly or not, I rescue these things too! After all, someone spent some man hours and hard earned money on it too, it deserves one more cycle before it's life is cut short, after all they have only been around for twenty years, I think!
The idea of light going up starting six feet high, is not my preference. Here is a picture of a black one I rescued too..
Now, check this lovely chandelier I found.
While were on the subject check out this chandy Lowe's just got it!
Anywho, this is my first chandelier roadside rescue so...
I went to the hardware store and they tested it for me, I LOVE LOWE'S ( if you didn't already know), to determine if it still works.
Note:Buy one of these multimeter testing tools for $14, you can even test items at garage sales, for voltage ONLY, it doesn't turn the thing on people. Ask the Lowe's folks how to work it.
I connected this, stripped that, glued this and wired that and voila!
Dressed her up with some shades and with a little DIY love, Victoria is once again the baddest chick on the scene!
I have been toying with the name and i think i will call it a Kindlelier! Tochiere lamp plus chandelier! My kid said i was full of myself, but the guy in the Dave's Discount furniture store in Burlington, said I should go ahead and call it that....lmao.
So uh yeah, I have a tutorial for this, I just don't have enough time to post it all. And I want to know if anyone is reading this blog, so if you want to know step by step, with photos, how to make this leave a comment from an account that links to your email address and I will send instructions to you. Keep in mind, I am not the first person to make a chandelier into a lamp, there are others who do this to make money, i believe. I have to research before I reveal the secrets on the how to's publicly...(leave a comment I will send them).
Ok, off to work!

Oh my - you are so funny! I found you via Eddie Ross's blog. I love how you find stuff on the curb and make it your own. I feel the same way when I dumpster dive - but the Mission Impossible soundtrack doesn't go through my head. Keep it up! I love it♥
