Organizing the "stuff"

Hello all!

It is a new year! Time to organize, reorganize, and rethink a few things. When it comes to organizing my "stuff", my online life is happenin'. My house, well I will leave that to the pros. I do furniture, remember? Here is a link to where I turn for advice. When your done with your home, come help me with mine!

For those who tackle organizing with a kindred spirit...watch Clean House, that show always makes me feel much better about my occasional mess.

Designers- out?- DIY in?

Read what Apartment Therapy predicts for the year to come. These are ONLY predictions folks! Not the gospel!

One person mentioned on the "IN" list, is the source for some of my inspiration when it comes to DIY (do-it-yourself), color, flowers, food, and more, Eddie Ross. He is a gem! I feel encouraged, that he listing lil' ole me, on his site, WOW!

The AT site, also has articles and links for "how-to's", along with some other "In's" I can't wait to try. Wallpaper, "out"?, maybe for walls, but for furniture it has just begun....

With a few design books, some HGTV, and the internet, you too can be your own designer/decorator. Don't throw designers out all together. Try some things and see what you come up with first. Then, if you would like an expert opinion, pay a designer to critique your work and get a few staging tips.

Again, I am fanatical about recycling wood furniture. So, don't throw it out! Give it a face-lift with some paint, new drawer pulls, or some fabric. Let's keep our earth strong, with recycling whenever possible.

Do you have a favorite piece you would like to re-do? Let's hear about it!

Drawers, Drawers,

I keep finding tossed out drawers of all kinds and shapes around town. I am going to have to put these to good use, because they are calling for me to rescue them!

I wanted a footstool so, this was my inspiration.

Before picture of a larger drawer that is very sturdy...

After, is the "Kindle Cherry" for home version...

I wanted something a bit more vibrant and rustic. The top is a faux alligator fabric, and the legs are recycled from a roadside loveseat. This is a very sturdy piece, I love it.

Here is a closer view of the faux, alligator skin covering..Isn't it gorgeous!

Next is a rescued computer drawer...

I needed a small side table for my guest room, so....
