Furniture Market.....last day

Yes, I know I went from day one to the last day, but hey, I am very ADD, I will do that. So be patient with me. Here is some eye candy to hold you over

...Forgive me??? Just divalicious huh?

So....

I had to make this entry now, because I was going through my camera and remembered these pictures. Looking at them compelled me to get out my laptop and type.

May I introduce to you John Reeves,a kindred spirit in the furniture recycling business (amongst other things), whom I had the great pleasure of meeting, on the last day of the furniture market. The day when all the designers are packing up and gearing towards home, having either the success or failure of the market on their minds. Some exhibitors were so tense they hardly speak and practically run you over leaving the building. Not John, He is such a modest and sweet person whose eyes absolutely light up, when he talks, because he has a passion for his work and people.

Well John, being very different, greeted me as if it were the very first day of the market ,not knowing who I was (a nobody really). He smiled and showed me his furniture line. Now, at first glance something about it looked very familiar and I thought, NO WAY! I had been thinking of a product finish and even played with it a bit in my mind, but never had the tools to complete it. Well, I was very intrigued to see it actually done. I asked in a whisper(funny; no one was around but me and him), “hey is this…it looks like”. He replied, that yes, it was what I thought. He then made the cutest joke about it. He is very animated and real. Loved it!

We then sat on his award winning King Louis Bed and conversed a bit.

Our time was informal, comfortable, and exhilarating all at once. Like we were two old friends hanging out. He wasn’t at all prudish and was very open. We sat on the edge of his bed and our feet hung over the side, swinging as if we were in the first grade. Weird, but really cool.

After we talked, though extremely camera shy, he allowed me to snap a few shots of him.

I later found out(when his transportation arrived), that he should have been packing to catch his plane (I would have never known it).

This is my favorite picture of all.

We took a picture in his kissing chair. Which is very, very comfy by the way.Read about it here

After the shot was snapped, unexpectedly, he turned to me and said in a sweet, but bold, English accent, “What good is a kissing bench, if you don’t share a kiss”, then he kissed me! How awesome, award winning furniture designer, John Reeves kissed ME! Oh get your mind out of the gutter people, it was G-rated and on the cheek, but so very cool.
Again that chair is comfortable and definitely a spark..oops, I meant conversation starter...

John is a genuinely modest guy dedicated to recycling and making the world a better place. I anticipate seeing him in the upcoming years markets and definitely "knocking socks off" in the way of recycled designing!

Please go read about his work and tell a friend.

AHEM !AHEM,! Look at his work HIGH POINT FURNITURE MARKET, he deserves to be in the showcase building next time, Jackals! *Just a rant, she does this sometimes*

John, until next market, Bye Boo!

*all photos without a green background came from John Reeves' site Go visit it already!*

Notice how kindred we are in the frequency of our blogging...hey we are trying to save the world people...
